SHORT DESCRIPTION

Completed in 2009, the "Jewel in the Crown" forms the heart of the centrally located Grand Central Square in Dublin. The administration building with its sail-shaped double facade of aluminium, steel and glass is representative of futuristic Ireland in many respects. Visually, the high-rise was modelled on the Burj Al Arab and the modern two-storey entrance completes the unique architecture. The modern appearance is complemented by contemporary environmental protection requirements. Sliding windows with solar control and thermal insulation glass were installed in the point-fixed glass façade with stepped side elements in conjunction with steel and aluminium mullion-transom constructions.

  • Sail-shaped double facade
  • Glass & sheet metal facade
  • Windows
  • Aluminium & glass building envelope
  • Point held glass facade
  • Sliding window
  • Stainless steel sunshade
