The redevelopment of the Ruhr University Bochum was handled by Feldhaus in two construction phases from 2011 - 2013 & 2016 - 2017. The installation of the new facades on the existing old shell of the university building in Bochum was an important part of the renovation process. A mullion-transom façade with insert elements was constructed. At the same time, balconies with integrated gratings and railings were added to the structure. In order to make working comfortable for the students, external venetian blinds were also used as sun protection. A clear guidance is ensured by the used magistrals, which provide a uniform connection of the buildings. Within the building, the doors were also renewed and the technology updated - in line with the modernisation of the façade. This extensive refurbishment ensures a long service life for the listed building.
