Brief description
As a dual student, you will be involved in the processes of our company and at the same time study in block phase at our renowned partner university, the dual University of Baden-Württemberg. You will go through all important departments of the company and complete your studies in the active support of the project management. As a future academic, you will also deal with the company's future topics within the scope of your coursework, thus promoting the company's further development at an early stage. During your studies you will deal with exciting topics such as building physics, facade construction or project management. As a dual student, you will be part of a select group: parts of the management board and key management positions have been filled by former alumni. Flat hierarchies in the company give you additional advantages in your personal development and strengthen a unique cohesion in the daily cooperation.
Structure of the academic education
- Three-year dual study program in which you alternate between attendance phases in our company and at the Mosbach University of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg.
- The study programme is structured in a block system. You alternate between theory phases at the university (max. 3 months) and practical phases in the company (up to 6 months).
- Mosbach offers you a detailed insight into the facade industry. You can acquire engineering skills and build up facade-related fundamentals.
- Bachelor of Engineering degree with specialization in facade engineering. Categorization of the field of study: Civil Engineering.
- Our dual program creates a network for your professional life! Fellow students and alumni will accompany you again and again after your studies.
Your perspective
- You develop a global understanding in the planning, construction & handling of metal & glass facades
- In addition to the technical requirements, you will be given an overview of the window & facade market, which will enable you to build up a network directly during your studies.
- You will be actively prepared for a management position at Feldhaus . Through your acquired basics, many possibilities are open to you, such as project management, construction management or commercial project processing.

Our partner introduces himself
In Mosbach, modernity and idyllic surroundings meet: the campus is home to top-equipped lecture rooms and high-tech laboratories for teaching and research. The city centre impresses with beautifully restored half-timbered houses, framed by the foothills of the Odenwald. Short distances, a personal atmosphere and professors who know their students provide security and make studying easier.
As the cultural and economic centre of the Neckar-Odenwald region, the town of Mosbach has around 25,000 inhabitants. It is located between the conurbations of Heilbronn / Stuttgart and Heidelberg / Mannheim. The main campus is located in the city centre. Lecture rooms and laboratories are connected via short distances with a new library and the refectory.
The DHBW Mosbach is a member of the Rhine-Neckar Sports Region as well as the General German University Sports Association (adh), thus supporting competitive athletes and organizing a wide range of sports for all students.
The study
Realising modern buildings, taking unusual, new paths and accepting challenges in construction technology - these are the skills that we give prospective engineers in the Civil Engineering - Facade Technology course. Using practical examples, you will learn what needs to be taken into account in large-scale construction projects. Representative examples are the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart or the BMW World in Munich.
Facade technology is an overarching course of study for window and facade constructions in all frame materials such as metal, plastic, wood and aluminium composites. Every façade is different, no component exists twice. Therefore, high demands are placed on construction, logistics, calculation and project management. For this reason, the demand for graduates has been high for years.
In the first year of study, you will be taught subjects such as technical mechanics, mathematics, building construction, basic building physics, materials, physics and chemistry. In addition to the basic technical study content, we teach you business subjects, construction law and other important key qualifications. Industry-specific construction, in-depth materials science, CAD skills (2D and 3D) and technical building equipment are part of the study concept in the second year. In the final year of study, you will realise your own (real) facade projects and deal with demanding construction, applied structural analysis, structural engineering and project management. The course includes both theoretical and practical knowledge and you have the opportunity to acquire the AdA certificate as part of your studies.
